Chris and I have been together for a while now. For the last couple of years we have been dreaming about taking some time off to travel around the world. We are both aeronautical engineers with Chris focusing on re-entry vehicles (yes, from space) and I have focused on Turbomachines (aeroengines and gas turbines). We decided that the perfect time to do that is after finishing our Phd. Well, we are almost there. The research, experiment and simulations are finished and the dissertation has been written. Mostly… What’s left can be done on the road or will take some time anyway if we are there or not.
Over the last few years we saved as much money as possible. The only exception was travel. In this blog we will also discuss some of our past journeys but the main focus is our ‚World Tour‘. Here you can find updates about how and where we are. I don’t want to make any promises, but we will try to post as often as possible and a stable internet connection allows.
The blog will be mostly in English. It’s not my native language, and intensive spell and grammar checking is not easy on the road, so please forgive any errors. I’ll do my best, I promis.
Chris requested a category of his own about the food we try (or refuse? ;)) during our tour. Here you will likely find some posts in German.
